Salt Mine Hallein near Salzburg
High up on the Durrnberg Mountain above the Celtic town of Hallein lies the enttrance to the Hallein Salt Mines. Once you have changed into mining clothes you will ride the “Grubenhunt” train, a small mining railway deep into the mountain. After the guided tour, which lasts around one hour, you will explore salt fleeces, the mysteriously lit salt lake and then slide even further down on the wooden slides. Afterwards you will visit the Celtic Village and the Celtic Museum in Hallein town.
