On May 23, 2024, the world premiere of the play "WOLF - The Mystical" will take place on the brand new Salzkammergut lake stage on Lake Wolfgangsee. It is an artistic spectacle dedicated to the 1100th birthday of St. Wolfgang.

Details of the new lake stage in the Salzkammergut

The breathtaking lake stage is being built in Ried am Wolfgangsee and offers space for 800 spectators. The complete roofing of the stage and the audience area allows performances in all weathers. In a region where the weather can be capricious, this is an invaluable advantage for the continuity of cultural and event operations.

This mobile lake stage was designed by architect Eduard Neversal, who has masterfully combined modern aesthetics and professional functionality.

"WOLF - The Mystical"

The libretto by Franzobel forms the basis for the impressive work by composer Gerd Hermann Ortler, who presents his first mystical with "WOLF - Das Mystical".

With 18 performers and 12 musicians, outstanding characters are brought to the stage, creating a world of mystical theater and entertaining musicals, a true mystical that captivates the senses and touches the heart.

At the heart of the music theater piece "WOLF - Das Mystical" is a profound exploration of the big questions of human existence. The life story of St. Wolfgang, which reveals the inner conflict between hedonism and contemplation, is illuminated in an impressive way. The production aims to create a poetic and humorous atmosphere that will delight the audience. With 18 performers and 12 musicians, outstanding characters are brought to the stage, creating a world of mystical theater and entertaining musical that captivates the senses and touches the heart.

The highlight of this festive year 2024, which celebrates the 1100th birthday of St. Wolfgang (924-2024), is undoubtedly the performance of this newly composed musical theater. The first season on the new lake stage will take place from May 23 to June 24, 2024.

Focus on sustainability

After the series of performances in May and June, the ecologically sustainable stage will be dismantled without leaving any residue. It can be used flexibly at various locations in the Salzkammergut and will return in spring 2025 for a new series of performances at Lake Wolfgang.
